UW Medical Center – Montlake is Washington State’s top ranked hospital and is nationally ranked in several surgical and medical care specialties, including cancer, diabetes and endocrinology, ear, nose, and throat, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics, urology, rehabilitation medicine, gastroenterology, neurosurgery, and lung surgery. The hospital is also nationally recognized as high performing in 16 common adult procedures: aortic valve surgery, spinal surgery, colon cancer surgery, heart failure management, hip replacements, kidney failure management, knee replacement, lung cancer surgery, ovarian cancer surgery, prostate cancer surgery and stroke management.

With over 600 patient beds, UW Medical Center – Montlake is the largest hospital in the UW Medicine healthcare system and the School of Medicine’s largest teaching hospital. The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine faculty support 30 operating room suites, including 2 delivery OR suites, 9 labor rooms and 12 ancillary locations in interventional cardiology, digestive diseases center, radiation-oncology, interventional radiology, and nuclear medicine. Our dedicated team of 80 faculty anesthesiologists includes generalists and sub-specialists works together with anesthesia residents and certified nurse anesthetists to provide round the clock care to a complex and diverse patient population. Our team administers over 25,000 anesthetics a year.
