Located in North Seattle, UW Medical Center – Northwest has been a vital community asset since 1960, joining the UW Medicine healthcare system in 2010, and merging with the UW Medical Center in 2020 to become the UW Medical Center’s Northwest campus.

Supporting hospital and outpatient surgery

UW Medical Center – Northwest is a 281 patient bed hospital and outpatient surgery center staffed by a dynamic and diverse team of 22 UW Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine faculty. The anesthesiology team provides expertise in regional anesthesia, advanced airway techniques, and pediatric anesthesiaMajor clinical programs and services include neurosurgery, orthopedic joints/trauma/sports, breast & plastics, obstetrics, gynecology & gynecology/oncology, urology, general surgery & hernia, vascular, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, and electrophysiology. Faculty members at the Northwest campus primarily provide patient care in a solo setting and are also adept at leading the care team model.

UW Medical Center – Northwest has 19 operating rooms, including 12 main rooms and 1 hybrid room at UW Medical Center – Northwest Hospital, 4 rooms in the outpatient center and 2 rooms in the childbirth center. Our dedicated team of 22 faculty in the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine also support UW Medical Center – Northwest’s 3 endoscopy suites, 1 interventional cardiology suite and 1 interventional radiology suite.
