Effective July 1, Dr. See Wan Tham will assume the role of interim director for pain medicine at Seattle Children’s. In this capacity, Dr. Tham will partner with department members to ensure a smooth continuation of activities related to pain medicine.
Dr. Tham is an associate professor, pediatric anesthesiologist, and pain physician. She first joined the department as a pediatric anesthesiology fellow, followed by further training through an Institutional National Research Service Award (T32).
Today, she balances her clinical responsibilities with an NIH-funded research program dedicated to pediatric chronic pain. She earned her MBBS at the University of Sydney, Australia, and completed her anesthesiology residency at the State University of New York (Syracuse).
In her new interim director role, Tham will support developing the framework for the program’s long-term growth and will also serve as a member of the Seattle Children’s Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine executive team.
