Mashour is a professor of anesthesiology and pharmacology at the University of Michigan Medical School and an internationally recognized expert on the neurobiology of consciousness and unconsciousness. Founding Director of both the Michigan Psychedelic Center and the Center for Consciousness Science, he currently serves as interim executive vice dean for academic affairs at the University of Michigan Medical School. His research spans computational models, laboratory science, and clinical trials, with a focus on psychedelics and consciousness.
