About me
Dr. Rodrigues was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, where he completed his medical training at the University of Cape Town and Groote Schuur Hospital—famous for performing the world’s first successful heart transplant. (Fun fact: It’s also where South African anesthesiologist Professor Gaisford Harrison first reported that dantrolene was effective in treating MH in pigs. A small but mighty contribution to the field of anesthesia!)
After specializing in anesthesia through the University of Cape Town and the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa, Dr. Rodrigues worked in both public and private practice in Cape Town before moving to the U.S. in 2021.
With a keen interest in total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) and target-controlled infusions (TCI), he is excited to be part of the dynamic academic environment at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
