Community Building & Belonging Brief – April 2026

2026 Sound Careers in Healthcare

On March 10, over 500 students from across Washington state arrived at the University of Washington Alaska Airlines Arena by busload for the 2026 Sound Careers in Healthcare, a full-day hands-on experiential learning and health career fair event. This annual event, hosted by the Washington Alliance for Better Schools, the Healthcare Industry Leadership Table, and the UW Center for Workforce Inclusion and Healthcare System Equity, is the largest Doctor for a Day event for the academic year. This year, the UW Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine showcased airway intubation techniques and Point-of-Care Ultrasound. The students, many of whom were excited about future careers in anesthesiology, watched demonstrations and had the opportunity to practice with the guidance of our team.
