Dr. Alan (Jen‑Ting) Yang, a graduate of the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine’s neuroanesthesiology fellowship and the University of Washington’s Master of Science in Health Services program, is now the Neuroanesthesiology & Perioperative Neurosciences division chief for UW Medicine.
An integral part of the division for more than five years, Yang also remains in his role as neuroanesthesiology fellowship director.
“Alan is an excellent clinician and innovative educator who is known within the department for his warm and welcoming personality. He is always open to collaborative efforts,” says Dr. David R. Wright, who previously held the role of division chief before becoming the chief of service for Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at Harborview Medical Center. “I look forward to working with and alongside Alan in his new role.”
Yang shared that he is honored to take on the chief position, adding, “Our division is the ultimate advocate for patients facing the most complex neurological challenges. By uniting experts in neuroanesthesiology, neurocritical care, population health and basic science, we push the boundaries of what is possible in neuroprotection.”
His appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the division, and the department looks forward to Dr. Yang’s continued contributions to neuroanesthesiology at UW Medicine.
