Kenya

Naivasha Hospital is a sub-county referral hospital in Kenya with a longstanding partnership with the University of Washington Department of Global Health. We are excited to build on this partnership by focusing on knowledge, skill acquisition, and capacity building to improve anesthesia and safe surgery. Onsite and virtual educational opportunities in anesthesia will be conducted year-round, as an exchange between Naivasha anesthesia providers and UW-GAIN faculty, residents, and fellows.

To strengthen the larger anesthesia educational community in Kenya, University of Nairobi Department of Anesthesiology will also participate in this partnership, focusing on a resident rotation at Naivasha Hospital, faculty enrichment, and scholarly initiatives.

Namibia

Our department has had a long-standing collaboration with the University of Namibia Department of Anesthesiology, centered primarily on teaching. Annually, our department faculty travels to Namibia to provide educational support for their anesthesia residency program. Our work includes lecture-based and clinical teaching to expand the knowledge and skills of local anesthesia care providers.
