2024 FAER Academic Giving Competition

The UW Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine is thrilled to participate in the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research Annual Giving Competition (FAER AGC)! FAER is the largest and most impactful charitable organization dedicated to supporting anesthesiology research. The FAER AGC is a competition with 21 other large tier academic anesthesiology departments to raise the most funds for FAER. All funds raised will directly support FAER’s mission to develop the next generation of physician-investigators. As a winner, our department will receive a Grand Rounds from one of FAER’s leaders, a FAER-sponsored get-together, a fun trophy, and bragging rights for the year!

Since 1979, current and former faculty in our department have received 35 FAER grants supporting anesthesiology research; 14 of these faculty are still working in our department! FAER grants are critical to junior faculty developing an independent research program, and their grants provide more than just money – they provide external validation and an early track record of success.

Our goal

Our goal is to raise $15,000 by October 22, and we need you to help us get there. Donations at any level ($20 minimum) are wonderful, appreciated, and help us win. If you want to donate using a check, let me know and I’ll send you instructions. Only donations made during the AGC count toward our goal and trophy.
